‘El Clasico’ is set to get its next chapter this coming week.
Football’s fiercest rivalry will be contested for the 239th and 240th time in February, after Barcelona and Real Madrid were drawn to face each other in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
The two-legged semis will see Real make the trip to Catalunya for the first leg on Wednesday, 6 February, before Barcelona visit the Spanish capital three weeks later.
Real Betis and Valencia will play in the other semi-final.
Real’s last visit to Nou Camp was an ill-fated one for the European champions – a 5-1 mauling resulted in the sacking of manager Julen Lopetegui, months after his controversial appointment.
The Spanish Cup final will be played on 25 May at Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville, a 61,000-capacity venue that is home to semi-finalists Real Betis.
Barca are four-time defending champions in the competition, and have reached seven of the last eight finals. Real last won the Copa del Rey in 2013/14.
