The Indian team might have suffered a crushing defeat on Saturday, but that did not stop them from celebrating their beloved skipper Virat Kohli’s birthday at midnight.
Complete with a cake-cutting ritual, Kohli’s 29th birthday celebrations saw enough fanfare in the dressing room.
Kohli cut his cricket-pitch-shaped birthday cake to cheers from his team mates, going on to feed the first slice to opener Shikhar Dhawan.
The cricketers then went on to smear their captain’s face with cake, making for some ridiculous photo ops.
India lost to New Zealand by 40 runs, leveling the three-match T20 series. The deciding match will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on 7 November.
