The 14-year-old Priyanshu Moliya went past Prithvi Shaw’s highest minor cricket score of 546 with an innings of 556* runs. He was playing for Mohinder Lala Amarnath Cricket Academy against Yogi Cricket Academy during the two-day game of the Shri DK Gaekwad Under-14 tournament in Vadodara, according to The Times of India.

Pranav Dhanawade’s innings of 1009* in January 2016 remains the highest-ever score in an inter-school match.

Moliya, who struck 98 fours and a six during his innings, helped his team to a score of 826/4d. His side attained a lead of 774 runs.

Skipper Moliya scored 408 runs on Day 1 of the match and notched up another 148 runs on Day 2 of the school match. The 14-year-old had starred with the ball before the blistering innings. He picked up four wickets to help Mohinder Lala Amarnath Cricket Academy bundle the opponents for a paltry 52 in the first innings.

Yogi Cricket Academy were bowled out for 84 runs in the second innings handing a 689-run victory to MLAC Academy.

“My previous highest was 254 in the same tournament last year. I was just playing my normal game as the bowling attack was good. It was a satisfying innings, but yes, I was beaten on four to five occasions.”
