India will face host Sri Lanka in the opening match of the Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series on 6 March. Bangladesh are the third team who will be taking part in the tournament.
The tri-nation series will follow a round-robin format with all the three teams playing each other twice, with the top two progressing to the final on 18 March.
All games in the tri-series, including the final will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium (RPS) in Colombo and will start at 7 PM local time.
Both India and Bangladesh will arrive in the island nation on March 4. While Bangladesh will play a warm-up game ahead of the tournament, India would begin their campaign without any practice match, confirmed Sri Lanka Cricket sources to Cricbuzz.
The tournament comprising seven games is being conducted to mark Sri Lanka's 70th year of independence.
Sri Lanka had organised the Nidahas Trophy in 1998 also to celebrate the country's golden jubilee of independence. India had won the tournament back then after they defeated Sri Lanka by seven runs in the final. New Zealand was the third team in the tournament.
