India’s tour of England has been a mixed bag with India winning the T20I series 2-1, but losing the ODI series 1-2. The performance of the players has been up and down and many criticisms have been made towards the players.
But the ultimate judges are the fans themselves. So we took to the streets of Delhi to ascertain the buzz around Virat Kohli’s captaincy, the slow innings by MS Dhoni in the second ODI and what it means for his future, and looking forward to the all-important Test series that awaits India starting Wednesday, 1 August.
Why did India lose the ODI series?
The batting was not up to the mark, and the fielding was also very very disappointing to all of us.
Who has impressed you the most?
The spinners are doing really well, even (Yuzvendra) Chahal did really well, but our seamers aren’t performing.
How was Virat Kohli on his first England tour as captain?
Pressure is not on him. He performs well in spite of having the captaincy. I think other players need to step up because cricket is not an individual sport, it’s a team event.
Is it time for MS Dhoni to be replaced?
He has still done well, especially with wicket-keeping. To date, there has never been a wicket-keeper like him.
Thoughts on the upcoming Test series?
In the Test matches, India has to win. They will overcome all hurdles in the Test series.
