Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has been hitting the headlines ever since he released his autobiography ‘Game Changer’. The book contains a number of anecdotes from his personal life apart from giving facts and figures about his cricket career.
In his latest revelation, Afridi spoke about how he enjoyed talking to a girl over the phone in his young days, however, things took a drastic turn when they decided to meet after sometime.
“Before I was married this girl would often phone me. Her voice was amazing. Mobile phones were newly introduced and were quite expensive then. I spent a lot to hear that girl’s voice. The bell rang and there stood a young man holding some roses. I received the shock of my life when he said he was the same girl I’d been talking to all these months.”Shahid Afridi
Afridi, in his book also revealed his on-field spats with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir. He criticised Gambhir’a attitude while further saying that he has no great records to boast off.
"He (Gautam) who has no personality. He who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. He who has no great records just a lot of attitude” Afridi wrote about Gambhir in his book.
Gambhir slammed Afridi in his reply and also advised him to get treated by a psychiatrist in India.
