- Mario Balotelli has been out of action since September 27 due to a groin injury.
- He has not played for Italy since the 2014 World Cup.
AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli has undergone a pelvis operation that will keep him out of Serie A action for another month.
Milan says the striker had the procedure performed in Munich on Wednesday, adding that Balotelli will take at least four weeks to recover, excluding complications.
On loan from Liverpool, Balotelli has made just four Serie A appearances for Milan, with one goal scored. He last played on September 27.
Not likely to return until after the holiday break, Balotelli will need a strong second half of the season to be called up to Italy’s squad for the European Championship.
Balotelli has not played for Italy since the 2014 World Cup.
