The Indian women's kabaddi team settled for silver after a narrow loss to Iran in the final at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta on Friday. India lost 24-27 in a nail-biting encounter as Iran celebrated their first-ever gold medal in the Asian Games.

The Indian team failed to win a gold medal in women’s kabaddi for the first time since the game was inducted at the Asian Games in 2010.

The Indian men’s team also suffered a shock defeat to Iran in the semi-final at Asiad 2018.
