India finished the 18th edition of the Asian Games with an all-time high count of 69 medals. They won 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals in the competition.
The Asian Games closing ceremony was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Sunday, 2 September. The ceremony began at at 5:30 pm with spectacular fireworks, which were testament to the energy-filled event.
Indian women's hockey team captain Rani Rampal was India's flag-bearer at the closing ceremony. Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra was India's flag-bearer at the opening ceremony. Chopra went on to win the gold medal in his event comfortably.
The ceremony saw the sky getting filled with an assortment of colours with fantastic fireworks on display.
During the ceremony, many arts and cultural aspects of Indonesia were showcased through dancers, musicians and singers.
The performers much like the athletes, put their best on show.
