Taking a serious view of the adverse comments and unsporting behaviour of FC Goa players on and off the field after the Indian Super League (ISL) finals, the tournament’s management, on Monday, referred the matter to its disciplinary committee.

In a close-fought summit clash encounter, Goa lost 2-3 to Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. The match was a heated affair with several conflicts between the players throughout the match.

“It has been brought to the notice of ISL and concerns expressed by our partner Star India that FC Goa management has made adverse comments in media disputing the result of ISL 2015 finals played in Goa on Sunday night,” said an ISL release.

The matter has now been referred to the ISL Disciplinary Committee. ISL has a strict code of conduct with an established integrity unit and an ACSU division.

Goa boycotted the medal ceremony and then their co-owner Duttaraj Salgaocar later filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Chennaiyin FC marquee player Elano Blumer for allegedly assaulting and abusing him.

Blumer was booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 504 (intentional insult with intent to cause a breach of peace) late on Sunday night.

The complaint filed by Salgaocar at Margao police station, on Sunday, said that the former Brazil international assaulted him after the presentation ceremony.
