One day into the 2017 Pro Kabaddi League auction and the sport had a new star.

A virtual unknown in the league, having played just two seasons, Nitin Tomar emerged as the league’s biggest-ever buy. Going to new team UP Yoddha’s for a record-breaking Rs 93 lakh.

The Quint caught up with the 22-year-old and got him to spill the beans on his plans for the big paycheck, his early days as a wrestler and also about that one World Cup match that changed his life.
