Sunrisers Hyderabad Script History, Buy 2 Afghan Cricketers

Mohammad Nabi went for his base price of Rs 30 lakh while Rashid Khan was picked up for a whopping Rs 4 crore.

Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan Arman became the first cricketers from Afghanistan to be sold in the Indian Premier League auction after they were brought by Sunrisers Hyderabad on 20 February.

While Nabi went for his base price of Rs 30 lakh, Khan was sold for a whopping Rs 4 crore after a major bidding war.

Mohammad Nabi has been an important part of the Afghanistan cricket team for a while now. Since his T20 debut in 2010, the 32-year-old has picked up 56 wickets at economy rate of 6.96 in 52 twenty-over games.

A couple of franchises were vying for Rashid Khan in this year’s IPL auction. Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions opened the bid for the 18-year-old at his base price of Rs 50 lakh.
