Cricketer Yuvraj Singh's wedding is the talk of the town right now. But his father, Punjabi actor and former cricketer Yograj Singh, will not be attending his wedding with model-turned-actress Hazel Keech on 30 November, according to Hindustan Times.

Yograj is settled in Chandigarh after remarrying, post his divorce with Yuvraj's mother Shabnam.

It is my misfortune that I will not be attending the traditional wedding of my son which is being organised at a dera in Punjab. I had told Yuvraj’s mother that I will not attend the wedding if it is solemnised at any dera or if it involves any religious guru. It is destiny. I will not go (to the wedding). I only believe in god, and not religious gurus.
Yograj Singh, Yuvraj’s father told HT

The wedding will be held at a Fatehgarh Sahib gurdwara, about 40km from Chandigarh. Yuvraj and his mother are followers of two deras, which they'll be visiting on the wedding day.

After the wedding ceremony at the gurdwara (which will see about 60 close relatives and friends in attendance), the newly-weds will be visiting the deras of Baba Ram Singh Ghanduan Wala, next to the gurdwara, and Sant Ajit Singh Hansali Wale, also in Fatehgarh Sahib – said HT sources.

Brushing off any rumours of ill-will between him and his son, Yograj insisted that he will be attending the mehndi function at Hotel Lalit in Chandigarh, a day before the wedding ceremony.

I was invited with respect, by my son, and my name is printed on the invitation cards. I asked him if his mother will be comfortable with my presence, but he humbly requested me to be part of the function. I will go there as my son wants me to be there.
Yograj Singh, Yuvraj’s father told HT

He will not, however, be attending any other functions – including the ones in Delhi and Goa in early December.

Yograj had all things good to say about his future daughter-in-law Hazel and said that she would bring a positive change in the family.
