Can’t keep him away from the action, this captain of ours.
Virat Kohli may be out of the Dharamsala Test, nursing a shoulder injury, but there is no way the skipper would stay away from the field.
Having given his place in the playing XI to debutant Kuldeep Yadav, Virat Kohli had no problem wearing the bib and turning ‘12th man’ for India. In between overs, he even sprinted down to the middle to deliver water to his teammates.
‘He must be the most expensive drinks waiter in the world,’ a commentator joked.
Later in the innings, with Australia cruising at 142/1, his replacement Kuldeep Yadav struck and got the team the breakthrough. His first wicket in Tests was David Warner who had just scored his first half-century of the series.
After the celebrations ended and Yadav returned to his fielding position, Virat ran to hydrated his young teammate. A little pep-talk to go with that one, as well.
