Hailing from Saharsa in Bihar, 27-year-old Kundan Kumar had joined the army in 2012. Nimendra Yadav, his father, said that he is proud of his son for his sacrifice in the service of the nation.

"My son sacrificed his life for the nation. I have two grandsons, I will send them to the army too," said Yadav. Braveheart Kumar's wife, who last spoke to him on 9 June, said 'I want revenge for his death'.
