Political move or genuine benefits? With the 10 percent reservation Bill for economically weaker sections among upper castes being passed in both houses of the Parliament, the country seems to be split in its opinion. To find out what young students and IAS aspirants think about the government's move ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, The Quint’s Chaupal reaches Rohtak to interact with the students of Maharishi Dayanand University.

While most students think both the government and the opposition are trying to secure their vote banks through this Bill, dissenting voices in MDU Rohtak argued on the benefits of a reservation scheme for the economically weaker sections.

Some students also raised an alarm over the lack of jobs by highlighting the 'disappointing' figures from the CMIE report.
