Fashion and Hollywood royalty all descend in their best(read:weirdest) outfits for the Met Gala each year and this year was no different.

Well, if you’re a sports fan though. It was.

No on-court commitments this week meant two of tennis’ most royal made time for the fashion carnival in New York. Roger Federer had his wife Mirka by his side and Serena Williams had her fiance next to her, and also a beautiful baby bump.

Federer seemed to have made a few friends inside, a little time for a picture with American star Tom Brady.

But stealing the show wasn’t Federer’s choice of friends for photos - but the fan-like swarovski monster on his back!

The ever-dapper Federer donned a Gucci tux that held a huge, jeweled surprise on the back.

"Is that a dragon?" he was asked.

"No! It's a king cobra," he replied.

Queen Bee Serena though stayed with the normal(read: no cobras) and was spotted in a bright green Versace — and yes, she was glowing.
