Yashwant Rao Holkar, the prince of Madhya Pradesh’s erstwhile Holkar dynasty, wed his childhood sweetheart Nairika, daughter of industrialist Vijay Crishna Godrej in a lavish ceremony at the Maheshwar Fort, 70 kilometers from Indore, on Tuesday.
While Yashwant manages a business in Goa, his bride is a lawyer.
According to the Hindustan Times, the procession started at 3:45 pm with Yashwant and his father Shivaji in an open old Rolls Royce, followed by the entire Scindia clan.
They were felicitated at various points by locals.
Over 2,000 guests were in attendance including most members of other Indian royal families.
The couple then exchanged vows at Ahilyeshwar temple within the fort premises.
