Eid celebrations in India will start from Wednesday night.

For Muslims, Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan which literally means “festival of breaking of the fast.”

Jammu and Kashmir celebrated the festival one day head of the rest of India, as did the neighbouring country of Pakistan. Srinagar celebrated Eid with much gusto, despite certain sparks of violence between the people and the security forces.
