Madame Tussauds Singapore unveiled a wax figurine of the late Sridevi on 4 September in the presence of her husband Boney Kapoor, daughters Janhvi and Khushi and sister Sreelatha. The actor’s statue is a recreation of her iconic look from the song ‘Hawa Hawai’ from Mr India.

Sridevi’s statue will be housed against a Mr India themed backdrop in the Ultimate Film Star Experience (UFSE) zone among other Bollywood celebrities. Fans can also leave messages on a special memorial wall behind the statue. Boney Kapoor explained that the family chose to immortalise her look from ‘Hawa Hawai’ for her statue at Madame Tussauds Singapore because it held a special meaning for them. “It was also what she sang at her first live stage performance at Hope '86 in Mumbai and Calcutta. There have been numerous cover versions of the song in various films but none of them have come anywhere close to her performance. ‘Hawa Hawaii'’ has a special place in the hearts of our family and millions of fans,” he explained.

Sridevi passed away aged 54 on 24 February, 2018, after accidentally drowning in a hotel bath tub, leaving the film industry, her family and legions of fans in a state of shock. The actor was attending a family wedding in Dubai.
