Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhaljee came to be known as Chhota Rajan after his deceased boss, Bada Rajan, the “Madrasi don.”

Bada Rajan’s formal name is Rajan Mahadev Nair.

Tiger Memon

Mushtaq Memon, the brain behind the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, is known as “Tiger” due to his speed.

His father, Abdul Razak Memon was also called “Tiger” after the Nawab of Pataudi. The Nawab was the captain of the national cricket team while Abdul Razak was a player in the Mumbai league, according to a report by Outlook.

With an Indian father and a Vietnamese mother, Sobhraj’s criminal journey has a list of murders embedded in it, along with smuggling, and thievery.

Famous for his highly dramatic escapes from prisons, he is also known as the Bikini Killer.

Poone

Narasimha Murthy, a mafia don from Bangalore, was called Poone which literally means cat in Tamil.

The kingpin from Bengaluru, was called so by his targets, mostly labourers, due to his eyes, which they believed looked like a cat’s.

In 2009, Poone was killed by his arch nemesis, Kapali Ananda, according to a report by Mid-day.

Firecracker

This 22-year-old, whose official name is not known, calls himself ‘Firecracker’.

Koti Rama

Koti Rama, the feared gangster from Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya region was popularly perceived as looking like a monkey.

Koti literally means monkey in Kannada.

Jyothi Raj, according to an article in Deccan Herald, has another popular name; the ‘Local Spiderman.’

Koti Rama was detained on Independence day in 2014 for scaling a building in order to hoist the national flag without permission.

La Barbie

Édgar Valdez Villareal is a Mexican kingpin known to have committed murders in Mexico while distributing cocaine all over the United States of America.

The gangster is reportedly named La Barbie due to his blue eyes and blonde hair.

According to a report by The Economist, he was arrested in 2010 in Mexico.

Station Shekhar
