“Shut up” and learn some manners Hani Al-Siba’i. In a shocking video Al-Siba’i, a Sunni Muslim scholar told a Lebanese TV presenter Rima Karaki to “shut up” when she interrupted him during an interview, and then went on the history of Christians joining Islam, and the ISIS today.
Karaki patiently listened for few seconds and then coolly requested Al-Siba’i to “focus on the present”. But Al-Siba’i said, “I will answer as I please...what kind of behaviour is this. I will not answer the way you like, because I’m here to serve the idea in which I believe.”
As the argument got heated up, Al-Siba’i shouts at the anchor and says, “Shut up so I can talk. It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who...”
And what happens when you piss off a woman? You get the silent treatment.
While Al-Siba’i remained on the screen, his microphone was disconnected. In the end, Karaki powerfully concluded, “Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over”.
