Swedish Police Make Second Arrest in Truck Attack Probe - Court Official
Swedish police have arrested a second person in relation to the deadly truck attack in the capital and a court has appointed the person a legal representative, a court official said on Sunday. "Police have arrested a person and we have appointed a public defender," Helga Hullmann, judge at the Stockholm District Court said.
She said lawyer Johan Akerman was the legal council appointed.
Suspect From Uzbekistan, Previously Known to Police
Swedish police are increasingly confident they have caught the man responsible for a truck attack in the capital Stockholm on Friday, but would not rule out the possibility that other people had been involved.
Swedish National Police Chief Dan Eliasson has informed that the 39-year-old arrested hails from Uzbekistan.
He has previously figured in intelligence material, Swedish security police also said on Saturday.
“The arrested man was not part of any of the security police's ongoing investigations. However, he is a person who has previously figured in our intelligence flow,” head of the Sapo security police, Anders Thornberg, told reporters.
Swedish Police Say "Device" Found in Truck Used in Attack
Swedish police said on Saturday they were examining a device found in the driver's seat of the truck used in the attack in Stockholm which killed four and injured more than a dozen.

“Whether it is a classic bomb or a fire device or something else is subject to technical analysis,” he said.
Man Arrested is Truck's Suspected Driver
The man arrested on Friday in relation to the attack in the centre of Stockholm is suspected of being the driver of the truck that killed four people, police said on Saturday.
