American space entrepreneur Elon Musk on Tuesday, 10 July tweeted that he was in Thailand with a prototype ‘mini-sub’ at the flooded cave where five members of a youth football team remained trapped.
More than a fortnight back, the Thai soccer youth team had ventured into Thailand’s Tham Luang cave complex after practice and got trapped by rising waters.

There is no indication so far whether or not Thai rescuers plan to use Musk's prototype.
Earlier, Musk made headlines with his idea of installing an inflatable tube with airlocks inside the cave complex.
He even posted a video of divers escorting the pod during testing in a Los Angeles swimming pool.
Elon Musk Sends Team to Thailand
Musk, on 4 July, had sent engineers from two of his companies to Thailand to see if they can help bring out the members of the soccer team.
Musk had tweeted the announcement after another Twitter user pleaded him to help the 12 boys and their coach, who had been underground for more than two weeks.
In a series of tweets, Musk said his Boring Co, which digs tunnels for advanced transport systems, has advanced ground penetrating radar, and brainstormed that an air tunnel constructed with soft tubing like a Bouncy Castle could provide flexible passage out.
He had said engineers from his Boring Co and SpaceX companies needed to be on site to appreciate the complexities of evacuation. There has been no immediate official reaction to his plans.
