Exactly a year after Brussels came under attack of suicide bombers killing over 30 people, London faced a bloody Wednesday after an unknown assailant allegedly ploughed down pedestrians with his car on the Westminister Bridge. He then went on to stab a police officer outside the House of Parliament who later succumbed to his injuries.
The attacked was shot dead by police officers. Three others were killed, while 40 injured in the catastrophic incident.
The House of Commons was put in lockdown and many MPs are still inside the Commons chamber. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Theresa May was ushered to a safe location.
London police said they are treating the attack “as a terrorist incident until we know otherwise”.
