The Dalai Lama has said that terrorist attacks like that of the Bataclan music theatre in Paris cannot be solved through prayers because ‘humans have created this problem’.

The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 said that there is no use in asking God to help this situation because “God would say, solve it yourself because you created it in the first place” adding that the terrorists are ‘short-sighted’.

We need a systematic approach to foster humanistic values, of oneness and harmony. If we start doing it now, there is hope that this century will be different from the previous one. It is in everybody’s interest.

Dalai Lama asked for ‘serious attempts’ to restore peace in the world otherwise ‘we will continue to see a replay of the mayhem humanity experienced in the 20th century’.

Jihadis went on a rampage on November 13 killing 129 people, which started with suicide bombs at the Stade de France followed by random shooting at bars and restaurants. The madness ended with murder of 89 music fans at the Bataclan theatre.

France President Francois Hollande was also at the stadium when the attack took place.
