Barack Obama knows how to make his public appearances worthwhile.
Last week, the US President visited Washington’s Benjamin Banneker Academic High School to interact with the students. And, though he arrived late, he made sure not to disappoint the audience.
Obama took a dig at the smartphone-obsessed millennials by jokingly saying that he was glad that the students had their phones to distract themselves while they were waiting for him to arrive. Not just that, he impersonated the manner in which his daughters’ text while they are on phone.
His funny imitation got him a loud cheer and appreciation from the students.
President Obama also acted out the selfie-taking skills of his daughter which was met with an even louder cheer.
Obama was in a fun mood as he went down the memory lane to tell the students how things were different during his student days. He told them his generation didn’t text but rather sent notes to their ‘crushes’ and went and spoke to them in person.
He added, “That may happen to you someday.”
We saw what you did there, Mr President!
