French investigators have not yet established whether the truck driver who killed at least 84 people in Nice on Thursday had connections with radical Islamists, said
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.
“We have an individual who was not known to intelligence services for activities linked to radical Islam,” said Cazeneuve. He also denied that the attacker was inspired by jihad.

A neighbour, in her account, said she was frightened of him and that he was ‘not normal’.
His sister told reporters that he had been seeing psychologists for several years before he left Tunisia for France in 2005.
