Uber has definitely made our lives easier in the past few years. Now, we can hail a cab at anytime of the day and get to our destination. However in France, Uber may have accidentally crossed the line.

A French businessman filed a lawsuit worth €45m against the company for spilling information about his illicit affairs to wife.

The businessman had logged into Uber through his wife’s phone to book to meet his girlfriend.

Despite having logged out immediately after the Uber app continued to send receipt notifications to the wife’s phone and she was made aware of all the rides taken by her husband.

Although the couple eventually filed for divorce, the businessman blames Uber for ending his marriage.

My client was the victim of a bug in an application. The bug has caused him problems in his private life.

The Le Figaro newspaper carried out a experiment to find out if other Uber users have been facing the same problem or not. They logged in and out of Uber in two iPhones and both the phones got screen notifications from the application.

The issue was solved in December after a software update in iPhones and Android users were lucky enough to not face the problem at all.
