- Two people were killed and six others wounded when armed men opened fire on players and spectators at a baseball game in Acatzingo, 170 kilometers (105 miles) from Mexico City on Sunday.
- Both the casualties were players, one who died on the spot and the other while he was being rushed to the hospital.
- The incident took place in Puebla, a state which has largely been spared the drug cartel violence afflicting other parts of the country. But it has a high incidence of vigilante violence, as well as criminal activity around the theft of fuel from facilities of state oil giant Pemex.
