Many children these days are preoccupied with tablets, social media and the internet in general. Chloe Bridgewater of Hertford England, however, has a very different set of priorities.

Inspired by the technology present around her, the 7-year-old decided to send a job application to Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Why She Wrote to Google

Chloe’s father Andy Bridgewater shared the letter via LinkedIn. Bridgewater also revealed that Chloe lost a “great deal of confidence after being knocked down by a car a couple of years ago”, but was kept upbeat by Kindle and other devices.

After Bridgewater showed her images of Google offices with their bean bags and go karts, Chloe was inspired. So much so, that she wrote a personal letter to Pichai, asking for a job at Google.

Chloe told Pichai of her fascination with the company’s legendary perks and cutting-edge innovation.

“My dad said that I can sit on bean bags and go down slides and ride go-karts in a job in google. I like computers too and have a tablet that I can play games on.”

She backed up her application with her own class performance, which her teachers and parents have both appreciated.

“I am 7 years old and my teachers tell my mum and dad that I am very good in class and very good in my spelling, my reading and my sums. My dad told me that if I carry on being good and learning, then one day, I will be able to have a job at Google.”

Chloe did reveal however that this was not her first letter to someone of importance, revealing that she had sent another one to Father Christmas the previous year.

Pichai was so touched by the young girl’s drive, that he sent a personal letter back to her, much to the surprise of her father.

Pichai thanked Chloe for her letter, and encouraged her to keep her passion for technology alive.

“Thank you so much for your letter, I’m glad you like computers and robots, and hope you will continue to learn about technology.”

Pichai hopes to hear from her at a later stage in life as well.
