At least 21 students on an educational tour were killed and 15 others were injured on Friday, 21 December, when a bus plunged into a ravine in western Nepal's Dang district, the Associated Press reported.
Around 31 students and teachers of the Krishnasen Icchuk Technical School in Ghorahi were returning from a tour of a botanical garden in Salyan when the bus fell around 400 metres down into the ravine, killing 21 people, police said.
Authorities and first responders rescued those injured and took them to the Rapti Zonal Hospital for treatment.
Rescue operations were difficult because the crash happened in a remote area and the wreckage was scattered, authorities said.
