Fifty Shades of Grey stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dorian have not yet been approached for the spin-off of the book, which was recently announced.
Author E L James announced a spin-off to her ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trilogy titled ‘Grey’ which prompted speculations that the book will migrate to the big screen, said The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Grey’ will retell the kinky tale from protagonist Christian Grey’s perspective.
Furthermore, neither 25-year-old Johnson or Dornan, 33, have any idea that the ‘Grey’ novel, which would likely serve as the fourth film in the “Fifty Shades” franchise, is in the works.
Universal, which owns the rights to adapt ‘Grey’ for a film, declined comment on any plans it might have for the project, but sources say a movie is a no-brainer considering the huge box-office generated by the first film.
“Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed”, the second and third instalments of James’ trilogy, have already been booked for February 10, 2017 and February 9, 2018 release respectively.
