The largest heart-shaped diamond ever, among a host of other jewels, is up for auction at Christie’s, Geneva.
‘La Legende’, the 92-carat ‘flawless’ diamond has been designed by Boehmer et Bassenge, a Paris-based organisation named in honour of the royal jewellers to King Louis XV.
La Legende is the name given to the stone by its current owners and whoever buys the stone will probably keep the name or they may add their name before or after. A stone of this size is definitely a legend. It’s a very appropriate name for its owners to have christened it.David Warren, Senior International Jewellery Director, Christie’s
The dazzling ‘D Colour’ stone is suspended from a pearl sautoir necklace and has been drawing a lot of interest. It is expected to fetch $14 million to $20 million in the auction.
