A viral picture on social media shows an order from a high court stating that private schools will not be allowed to collect fees for the months of June-July, since it is the summer vacation period.

The notice claims that strict action will be taken against schools who fail to adhere to it, including a termination of their official recognition.

The letterhead of the notice shows it has been issued under one ‘Crime Intelligence Detective’.

TRUE OR FALSE ?

The Quint found out that while there indeed is an organisation named as ‘Crime Intelligence Detective’ which works from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad, this notice has not been issued by them.

The CID identifies itself as a non governmental organisation which campaigns against corruption and crime. They also provide detective and security services and is, therefore, named as CID.

According to a report by The Lallantop, the organisation has released a statement stating that the viral notice has not been issued by them.

SO WHERE DOES THIS CLAIM STEM FROM?

When The Quint ran a search on the case number mentioned in the viral notice, it was found out the High Court order in question was not from India, but from Pakistan.

A petition had been filed against the price hike of school fees in Pakistan in 2015, after a lot of protests. The details of the petition mentioned in the viral notice have been taken from the case of Shahrukh Shakeel Khan and others against the Chief Secretary of Sindh province, whose decision was announced on 7 October 2016 .

Therefore, the notice is fake. There has been no such notice issued by the NGO named CID or a high court.
