Many internet users are retweeting the picture with the hashtag #India, which is indicating that he an Indian. However, he belongs to Narsingdi district in Bangladesh, near the capital Dhaka.

Ullah posted the picture on his Facebook timeline on October 4, 2018 that read: “My mother is the crown of my life, that's why the convocation cap is for her. My father protected me from all harms throughout my life, that's why the convocation gown suits best in the sweat soaked body of my farmer father.”

As the picture was circulated and Ullah was admired for his gesture, it didn’t take much time for people to assume that he is a son of a rickshaw puller as they were riding on one. Ullah took cognizance of the misinformation being spread and issued a clarification in a post later in the day.

He explained, “I am a ‘farmer’ father’s son…I saw a little wrong information at different places.” He said that his father is not a ‘rickshaw chalak’ but a farmer in a village.
