CLAIM

Pictures on Twitter show young men clad in yellow T-shirts baring the logo of a cycle holding placards that claim ‘Naidu Symbol of Shame’, and ‘Naidu We Feel Ashamed’.

The men are supposedly workers from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), as can be discerned from the logo of the cycle on their T-shirts.

TRUE OR FALSE?

The photos have been morphed to make it seem as though TDP workers are decrying their own leader.

The original photo is from a welcome rally organised by the Bangalore TDP Forum (BTF) on 8 November, which was when Naidu met with former Prime Minister Deve Gowda in the city.

Original photos from the rally show that the placards actually say ‘NAIDU You are the hope we rely on’ and ’Symbol of Unity’.

The Twitter page of BTF too shared photo busting the morphed photo, while blaming the YSR Congress for the act.

WHAT HAPPENED ON 8 NOVEMBER

On 8 November, JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda announced that Naidu would take the responsibility of uniting the secular opposition parties.

The announcement came following a meeting between Naidu, Gowda and Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, at Gowda’s residence in Bengaluru on Thursday evening.

Naidu said he has taken the initiative to meet all the stakeholders and to prepare a plan for the alliance in consultation with them.
