A new celebrity hoax is making the rounds that the activist/actor/model Pamela Anderson has passed away. The spurious site has so ingenuously fashioned itself after ABC News that a quick glance can convince the most discerning readers.

At 8:00 am on March 12, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to “a medical request” at the Los Angeles home of Anderson. She had apparently collapsed in a bathroom. Firefighters attended to Anderson on the scene before transporting her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was admitted with complications attributed to Hepatitis C. According to Chief Coroner Jonathan Lucas M.D., during the course of her treatment, Anderson developed pneumonia over the following days and died at 10:04 this morning after going into cardiac arrest.

The actor and activist has not dignified the bogus claim with a comment. Though she not addressed the hoax, her social media accounts are abuzz with activity. Even on the day she supposedly passed away, she retweeted Snowden’s tweet about Facebook’s exploitation of intimate details of private lives. She has also been busy condemning the commercial fur industry as an animal rights activist.

IRL, she was recently spotted on the star-studded red carpet of the Global Gift Gala in Spain and looked stunning in a mulberry coloured gown.

While some netizens fell prey to the fake news, others slammed the hoax.

Anderson rose to fame as Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine in February 1990. She has also starred in TV series like Home Improvement and V.I.P.
