CLAIM
A video which shows two dogs attacking a man after he throws a brick-like object at them has been making rounds on the internet.
Many users shared the video on social media, claiming that the dogs are army dogs who attacked a stone pelter in Kashmir.
A Twitter user called Theju@Theju shared the video on Twitter and wrote, “A stone pelting Kashmiri muslim hit two army dogs. Since the dogs didn't wait for orders from the government, they did what they thought was right!”

TRUE OR FALSE?
Though the video is authentic, the narrative it is being shared with is completely false. The video is old and does not show two army dogs attacking a stone pelter.
WHAT WE FOUND OUT?
We looked for the video online and found that it had been uploaded by a YouTube user called ‘Dronedown Productions’ in 2013. Multiple users shared the video on YouTube claiming that the incident depicted took place in Morocco.
Though The Quint has not been able to independently verify the location of the incident, multiple social media accounts have indicated that the video is from Casablanca in Morocco.
Further, one of the earliest uploads that was traced by The Quint was on Dailymotion, where the video was headlined “2 Dogs attack Man in Casablanca Morocco 22-04-2013.”
This isn’t the first time that this video has been shared in India with a false narrative. A simple search on Facebook and Twitter showed that the video has been shared on multiple occasions in the past.
The Quint has reached out to media organisations in Morocco and will update this article with their response.
