A 10-year-old boy stands facing a man and pleads to him for mercy. With his hands stretched out and tears rolling down, the child looks terrified. The first blow comes when the man holding a phone charger smacks the child’s hand. The horror doesn’t end here. Over the next two minutes, the man, in his thirties, goes on to strike the 10-year-old with the charger about seven times, lifting him in the air and slamming him on the bed twice.

According to a Facebook post, the video has been doing the rounds as that of a teacher from RM VM school in Gujarat’s Valsad district beating his student.

However, the brutal thrashing is being done by none other than the little one’s father, Mahendra in Bengaluru, reported The News Minute.

The video was stored in the boy’s mother Shilpa’s phone. But it only came to light now after the man who repaired Shilpa’s phone, saw the video and informed the Kengeri police, the News Minute report said.

The boy had skipped tuition and not completed his homework on time. His father thrashed him for lying about these things, the TNM report added.

The brutal incident was recorded by the mother on the father's insistence who reportedly wanted the video to be shown to the boy so as to prevent him from lying in the future.

Bengaluru-based Mahendra, an employee at an IT consulting firm, was arrested by the Kengeri Police in January, 2018 under the Juvenile Justice Act.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
