Serial fake news propagator and Postcard News founder Mahesh Vikram Hegde on Tuesday, 21 August, tweeted a video of a man being attacked by a group of people in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that it was a cop getting trashed by Congress ‘goondas.’
He claimed that the police sub-inspector was attacked for checking the car of a Congress Member of Legislative Council (MLC). The video was retweeted over 3,000 times by 21 August evening.
Only, neither is the man a cop, nor are the attacking goons associated with a Congress MLC.
Not A Cop, But A Forest Dept Staff
Indian Forest Service Official Dipika Bajpai took to Twitter to clarify that the man in the video is actually a forest department official. And, the goons were faking that it was the car of an MLC.
They goons have reportedly been arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police.
Not A Congress MLC Kin
Postcard News founder also missed the news reportage about the event.
One of the attackers reportedly claimed to be a son of former MLC Ranga Reddy. However, speaking to The News Minute, Ranga Reddy dismissed the claim and asked for strict action to be taken against the ‘goons.’
Take Action, Says Twitter to Rahul, NCB
From asking Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to take action, people also demanded answers from them regarding the prevailing law and order situation. However, what they failed to notice was that arrests were already made.
