TRUE OR FALSE?

The statement being endorsed in the image is not true.

The recently conducted ABP-CVoter survey makes no such claim. In fact, according to the survey, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) might not gain a majority, BJP alone could bag up to 203 seats. NDA, meanwhile, is expected to get 233 seats.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is expected to follow with 167 seats where Congress alone could bag 109.

Further, the survey noted:

  • If NDA gets the support of YSRCP, BJD, MNF and TRS, its tally is expected to reach 278, slightly more than the majority mark.
  • If UPA gets the support of AIUDF, LDF, TMC and the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ of SP-BSP-RLD, its tally is expected to reach 257.

The Third Front parties are poised to be kingmakers with a combined tally of over 130 seats, the survey predicted.

Overall, the authentic report fully disputes the claim of the post alleging that predictions say Narendra Modi would not be able to secure even the small sum of 100 seats. Therefore, NDA could still emerge as the alliance with the highest number of votes in the Lok Sabha elections.
