Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, on Sunday, 3 March, formally joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The formal induction took place in BJP's Jamnagar office in the presence of Gujarat Agriculture Minister R C Faldu and Jamanar MP Poonam Madam.
According to The Indian Express, Rivaba induction was commended by Hasmukh Hindocha, president of Jamnagar city unit of the BJP, where the latter said:
“She is a known face in Jamnagar and Gujarat. Her entry gives the BJP one more recognisable face and it will help the party.”
Jamnagar is the hometown of her husband, Ravindra.
Rivaba's entry into the saffron party comes five months after she was appointed the head of Karni Sena’s women’s wing in Gujarat.
Karni Sena, a prominent Kshatriya-Rajput outfit in Rajasthan and Gujarat made headlines in 2017 after leading a movement against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat.
