On Wednesday, ousted AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala's lawyers have furnished fresh documents with Parappana Jail authorities, seeking parole for her to see her ailing husband. This comes a day after her parole application was rejected by jail authorities due to inadequacies in the application.
She had applied for a 15-day parole to see her estranged husband M Natarajan, who has been hospitalised in Chennai for liver and kidney failure. He underwent a liver and kidney transplant on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, The News Minute reported that the health condition of her husband has further worsened.
This is the first time Sasikala applied for parole since her imprisonment in February.
Superintendent Someshwar stated that the plea had been rejected due to inadequacies in the application and sought more details and affidavits.
The advocate had applied for parole along with the medical certificate of Sasikala’s husband Natarajan, as a supporting document.
Natarajan’s Health Has Worsened
Natarajan, who has been admitted at the Gleneagles Global Health City in Chennai, has been undergoing treatment for liver failure for the last nine months. TTV Dhinakaran, estranged relative of Sasikala said:
I have received information that the liver and kidney transplant surgery has been performed on uncle.
The operation lasted seven-and-a-half-hours and Natarajan is now stable. The donor was a critically ill patient who had been admitted at the Thanjavur Medical college and was airlifted and brought to the Gleneagles Global Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday.

In a health bulletin released on Monday night, the hospital said that his health condition is said to be critical with worsening liver failure and kidney failure, reported The News Minute.
Sasikala and Natarajan had been estranged for years. However, Natarajan had hinted on multiple occasions that the couple would get back once Sasikala's term was over.
The hospital, however, said that Natarajan has been receiving treatment for chronic liver disease since the last nine months, and that he has been advised by doctors to undergo liver and kidney transplantation. According to the TNM report, Natarajan has been listed with the Tamil Nadu Organ Sharing (TNOS) for donor liver transplantation.
On Sasikala’s parole, Dhinakaran said that if she were to apply with the requisite documents again, he was confident she would get parole. If Sasikala will stay at Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence, Dhinakaran said "Let her come first," and asked where would the scribe who posed the question wanted Sasikala to put up.
