Soon after Rahul Gandhi released the Congress’ manifesto on Tuesday, 2 April, Shatrughan Sinha launched a fresh salvo at Narendra Modi.
In a series of tweets, the rebel sitting BJP MP attacked the prime minister, even addressing him as ‘outgoing’.
Sinha is expected to formally join the Congress soon. The switch will follow the BJP’s decision to drop Sinha as its Lok Sabha candidate from Patna Sahib, where he’s currently a sitting MP from.
‘Modi’s Rhetorics Lack Content, Depth’
In his tweets, Sinha questioned the prime minister’s ways and methods, saying his “rhetorics/speeches lack content and depth”.
In his extended thread, he went on to ask Modi to attend “genuine” press conferences instead of hiring channels.
While the actor-turned-politician had been critical of Modi for a long time, the fielding of a different candidate from his constituency was probably the last straw. In the thread, he goes on to say how Modi’s speeches, rallies and interviews are all “choreographed”.
The BJP has not responded to any of the tweets as of now.
