- Bihar government and victims’ father Chandrakeshwar Prasad moved Supreme Court challenging the Patna High Court’s 7 September order that granted bail to the former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Shahabuddin.
- The court will hear the plea on 19 September. Prasad’s three sons were allegedly murdered by gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin from Lalu Prasad’s party.
- Shahabuddin was in jail for 11 years in connection with dozens of cases against him. One of them was the 2014 murder case of Rajiv Roshan, Prasad’s son, who was a witness to the murder of his brothers Gitish and Satish in 2004.
