Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday dubbed the Goods and Services Tax as 'Gabbar Singh Tax' as he fired a fresh salvo at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the sweeping tax reform and demonetisation.
Ahead of Assembly polls in the state, Gandhi also said that Gujarat is "priceless and can never be bought", a day after Patidar leader Narendra Patel claimed in Ahmedabad that he was offered Rs 1 crore to join the BJP, a charge rubbished by the saffron party.
Rahul Gandhi visited Gandhinagar to address the OBC ‘Navsarjan Janadesh’ rally organised by the party.

Congress Trying to Divide Gujarat: Nitin Patel
Invoking the KHAM theory propounded by former Congress government in Gujarat, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel on Monday alleged that the opposition party has once again taken that path to create a rift between various communities to gain power.
KHAM stands for Kshatriya, Harijan, Adivasi and Muslim.
Further taking a dig at Alpesh Thakor’s induction, Patel claimed that Congress would not hesitate to join hands with terrorists like Hafiz Saeed to win the election.
"If Congress feels that they can win the Assembly polls in Gujarat by joining hands with Pakistan based terrorists, like Hafiz Saeed or any other such terrorists, they would send them invitation without any hesitation," said Patel.
Contradictory Reports on Rahul Meeting Hardik
Rahul Gandhi met Hardik Patel at an Ahmedabad hotel, CNN-News18 reported on Monday. Patidar leader Dinesh Patel, however, said that the two did not meet on Monday and will meet when Gandhi visits Gujarat from 1-3 November.
Hardik Patel also met Ashok Gehlot at around 12:30 pm on Monday.

GST Is 'Gabbar Singh Tax', Note Ban Ruined Economy: Rahul Gandhi
In a scathing attack on the BJP-led Union government over the GST, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday described it as the "Gabbar Singh Tax" and called for changes in the new tax regime to make it simple.
Stating that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in its present form was not what the Congress party had conceived, Gandhi said the Narendra Modi dispensation went ahead with it despite his party warning the government about the adverse impact.
The Congress leader attacked Prime Minister Modi over the sudden demonetisation of high-value currency in November last year, saying the decision ruined the country's economy.
"Their GST is not GST. GST means Gabbar Singh Tax. This is causing a loss to the country. Small shopkeepers are finished. Lakhs of youths have been unemployed. But they are still not ready to listen," Gandhi said in his address at a rally of the Thakor community in Gandhinagar.
