Parliament Monsoon Session 2022 Live Updates: Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned on Friday, 22 July, and will reconvene on Monday at 2 pm.
During the day's proceedings, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Rajya Sabha that more than 2,000 trains were cancelled between 15 and 23 June amid the Agnipath protests across the country.
Meanwhile, sloganeering took place in the Lok Sabha by Opposition parties over price rise and inflation. The House was adjourned twice in the first hour of the session's commencement.
Before being adjourned, 'The Indian Antarctic Bill, 2022' was passed by Lok Sabha. The Bill aims at having India’s own national measures for protecting the Antarctic environment and dependent and associated ecosystem.
Meanwhile, ruckus continued in the Rajya Sabha after it resumed following adjournment for an hour by chairperson Venkaiah Naidu. Opposition MPs raised slogans against the Centre in the well of the House and demanded a discussion on GST, asking PM Narendra Modi to come to the House for a discussion.
Since the session began on Monday, both Houses have suffered frequent adjournments as the Opposition protests against inflation in the country, demanding a discussion on price rise in the Parliament.
The Monsoon Session, which began on 18 July, is scheduled to end on 12 August
As per a bulletin released by the Lok Sabha secretariat, a total of 29 bills, of which 24 are new, are to be listed in Parliament during this session
The Lok Sabha on Thursday deferred a discussion on the Indian Antarctic Bill, 2022, after the government urged the Chair to take up the Bill on another day since Opposition members were not present in the House
The Rajya Sabha also deferred passage of a bill that seeks to ban funding of weapons of mass destruction till 25 July the so that Opposition members can participate in the discussion on the draft law

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Parliament on Friday that more than 2,000 trains were affected amid the Agnipath protests across the country.
In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Vaishnaw said that a total of 2,132 trains were cancelled between 15 and 23 June.
