A lot happened on the first day of the Republican National Convention (GOP). Among other things, the curious similarity between Melania Trump’s and Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at the Democratic convention.
Here’s what to expect from the second day:
Trump Will Drop the ‘Presumptive’ From His Title
On Tuesday night, Donald Trump will go from being the ‘presumptive’ nominee to the official Presidential nominee of the Republican Party.
Since Trump has secured enough delegates through the primaries and caucuses, he will be taking centre stage as the Republican Party’s main man in the general elections.
Some Big Speeches
House Speaker Paul Ryan, who has just about wrapped his head around Trump’s nomination, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will be speaking at the convention.
Trump’s former competitors for the nomination will also be speaking, including New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, whom Trump passed up for Vice President. Ben Carson, who withdrew after the primaries, will also be speaking.
Not straying too far from Trump’s showbiz tradition, Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and professional golfer Natalie Gulbis will also speak.
Trump’s Kids Are Also Part of the Line-Up
Donald Trump Jr and Tiffany, Trump’s two children will also be speaking.
Trump Jr has been seen during the campaigns and has been an active supporter of his father. For Tiffany however, this will be one of the few appearances in connection with her dad’s campaign.
