The DMK-led alliance is set to win 15-21 seats in the 30-member Puducherry assembly according to India Today-Axis exit poll predictions.
In addition, the ruling All India NR Congress (AINRC) is slated to clinch 8-12 seats, the AIADMK 1-4 seats and Others two seats, said the predictions after polling ended on 16 May.
Puducherry recorded a high voter turnout with 81.9 percent of its population turning up to cast their votes.
The main fight in Puducherry, which has a 30-member house, is between the Congress-DMK combine and the ruling All India NR Congress (AINRC).
The India TV-CVoter exit polls has predicted a slightly lower margin with DMK estimated to win around 10-18 seats in Puducherry. On the other hand, AINRC is projected to win 5-13 seats, AIADMK 1-9 seats, BJP 0-2 seats and Others 0-4 seats in a House of 30 members.
The predictions down south have not been favourable for the BJP with exit polls placing it to win less than 5 seats in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as well.
It is cut-throat competition in Tamil Nadu between warring parties DMK and AIADMK with Amma’s party AIADMK slated to gain the upper hand.
The Left is surging ahead in exit polls in Kerala, with LDF predicted to secure over 70 seats, cementing their win in the state.
